Do I need to already know AI?

Not to start. The first two levels are beginner ground, and you learn the material during certification on the same platform the students use — you play through it yourself before you ever teach it. The technical levels are gated behind a separate module, and that gate is deliberate.

Do I need teaching experience?

No, but you do need to be able to explain something to a twelve-year-old without losing patience. That is most of what we screen for, and it is most of what certification trains. You will co-teach a session and then teach one observed before you are certified.

What does certification cost, and why does it cost anything?

It is $295 upfront, plus $99 a year to renew. Screening you and having a senior instructor observe your practicum costs us roughly $250, so we are not making money on the fee — it covers our cost and it is the gate. A credential that costs nothing signals nothing. There is nothing else to buy.

We bring you the class and pay you hourly — $30/hr to start, rising as you move up the tiers. You are not finding students, invoicing families, or chasing payment. We cannot promise a set number of hours before cohorts are scheduled, and we would rather say that than invent a number.

What would I actually be teaching?

Project-based AI classes for kids, in terms of twelve classes across four levels. Every lesson is a project rather than a lecture, and students finish with real work published to our public showcase. Students who want to go further get walked up a ladder of real competitions, up to Canada's flagship university hackathons.

It is a certification that makes you eligible to teach our classes, and we pay for the classes you teach. It is not employment and we do not guarantee hours. We would rather be plain about that now than have you find out later.

Can I use this with my own students?

Not yet. That option exists in our plans but it is not open, so right now certification means teaching classes we bring you. If your own students are the reason you are interested, say so in your application — it is the fastest way to move it up our list.

How long does certification take?

We are building the coursework now and will give you the real schedule when you apply rather than a number that might slip. The shape is fixed: self-paced coursework, an exam with a safety section you have to pass outright, then one co-taught session and one observed session.

Do I need a background check?

Yes. Every instructor at every tier completes a vulnerable-sector check before teaching. We teach children; this is not negotiable and there is no version of this where we skip it.

Apply and talk to us

A short application with a couple of written answers, then a call. We are screening for whether you can hold a room of twelve-year-olds and explain something clearly — not for an AI background.

Certify

You co-teach one live session alongside a senior instructor, then teach one on your own while being observed. This is the real bar, and it is the last thing between you and certification.

Every lesson is a project

Not a lecture with a worksheet at the end. Students build something in each class, and the term ends with a capstone they finish and publish.

Safety you are trained on, not handed

Moderated AI access built for young learners, a written incident protocol, and rules about privacy and parent communication. The safety section of the exam is pass/fail on its own.

One credential, three tiers

You move up on how your classes actually go — whether students stay, finish, and come back for the next level. Higher tiers teach more and are paid more.

Certified Instructor

Levels 1–2$30/hr

Where everyone starts. The beginner levels, and the tier most of the network will hold.

Head Instructor

Levels 1–4$38/hr

Adds the technical levels, including students building working software. Gated behind a separate technical module — this one is not given away.

Principal Instructor

All levels$50/hr

Teaches everything including competition prep, and helps train and observe new candidates. Appointed on evidence, never applied for.

Certifications are granted by PrompToGo and only by PrompToGo. Senior instructors train, observe and recommend candidates — they never grant a certification themselves.
